Independent Reading: The Rule of Thoughts

For this quarter´s independent reading, I read The Rule of Thoughts by James Dashner. This book is a sequel to the eye of minds, and it continues the story of Michael, Bryson and Sarah after they get out of the path and michael find outs he is a tangent (a piece of code from a game that represents a false character), after being transfered to another body. In the book Michael, in his new body, gets to meet Bryson and Sarah in real life, out of the game they play, Lifeblood. Then they try to take Michael to his old body via the VNS in Atlanta, and to try end with Kaine´s plans of killing people to insert tangents to their bodies. They acomplish this and end with Kaine´s plans, but then they go to jail for no reason, so this prevents Michael from going back to his past life.

This book is totally worth reading, because it is totally interesting to follow this story that occurs in two realities that are joined toghether for this tree kids, if they have a problem in one side, they have a problem at the other one, for example when they killed Tanya in the game, she also died in real life. I would recommend this book to all videogamers, because this book explains in detail how videogames will be in the future, I will also recommend it to people that like socio-politics, because this book explains how videogames will affaect society and politics.
